About the job: Façade Designer

Founded over 20 years, Lawtech have become a leading principal contractor specialising in cladding remediation. We deliver high-quality, compliant, multi-million-pound cladding repatriations & regeneration contracts throughout London and the wider Southeast.

Overall purpose of the role:

  • Create drawings, using relevant specifications, where Lawtech design is applicable.

  • Go to site and site office (3-4 days per week) and take surveys, complete photos in order to create drawings.

  • Liaise with Estimating, at construction stage, Commercial and Site management and other relevant departments throughout the life of the project as required to track design and quality issues.

  • Liaise with manufacturers, external structural engineers and architects, as required.

Role Responsibilities:

Key Tasks

  1. Creation, monitoring and revision of assigned drawings.

  2. Liaison with manufacturers and project teams including distribution of relevant documentation.

Overall purpose of role:

  • Prepare estimates for specified responses to PQQs, ITTs, pitches and proposals in conjunction with marketing and business development manager.

  • Hand over budgets to commercial / QS department for take on.

Responsibilities

  • Creation, management and monitoring of budgets for tenders, pitches and proposals

  • Hand over of information to commercial department and maintenance of information on Project Probe.

Key Tasks

  • Compiling assigned compliant and competitive tenders, within deadlines.

  • Pre-handover budget compiling and guided value engineering.

About the job: Assistant Customer Service Manager

Role Overview:

Lawtech believe that communication is key in delivery of a successful project, and as such our Customer Service Team are a valuable asset to our delivery team and the company.

Your key responsibilities as an Assistant Customer Service Manager are:

  • Support the Customer Service Manager in day-to-day functions and act on their behalf in their absence.

  • Assist Customer Service Manager to manage, provide support and motivation to our Senior RLO’s and RLO’s, ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in an orderly and effective manner.

  • Liaising with Project Managers to ensure identification, management and resolution of all customer issues.

  • Provision of outstanding and closed Customer Service issues to the Customer Service Manager monthly.

  • The role is based in Southampton, but will require occasional travel to other sites in Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Bristol.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist Customer Service Manager in hiring staff in their department.

  • Assist with the monitoring performance of Senior RLO’s and RLOs

  • Assist Customer Service Manager with Senior RLO’s and RLO’s probation reviews and annual PDR’s.

  • Assist to address grievances made by the Customer Service team.

  • Work closely with Project and Contracts Managers to ensure project, client and customer issues are managed together and resolved in a timely fashion considering our complaints processes and procedures.

  • Support Senior RLO’s and RLO’s to close out complaints at stage 1, escalating resident issues to Customer Service Manager as required.

  • Assist with management of in-house Customer Service system including site record templates, local documentation, and communication plans.

  • Deliver/support the delivery of customer service presentations to residents prior to and during projects.

  • Provide information to assist Customer Service Manager with monthly reports as required.

  • Review draft communication, amend/approve prior to its issue to our client for their acceptance.

  • Monitor and regularly check documentation on site for Right to Work, ensuring that everything is in order. Any issues should be raised with Project Manager to address and highlighted to Customer Service Manager for escalation as required.

  • Monitor and analyse KPIs on sites, ensuring that lessons learned process is followed.

  • In the absence of the Customer Service Manager provide Customer Service report for discussion during monthly board meetings.

Competencies

  • NVQ Customer Care Level 3 or equivalent experience gained through work experience.

  • Experienced in managing a team, ideally within social housing / construction sector.

  • Excellent customer handling skills and managing resident expectations.

  • Ability to resolve disputes.

  • Presentation skills.

  • DBS check (standard).

  • Experience in managing a team is beneficial

  • Dealing with customers/resident's face to face

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Facilitate the smooth running of projects by building and maintaining positive relationships between the residents, sub-contractors, client representatives and the Lawtech team.

  • Work closely with Project and site management team to ensure quality of customer service is maintained to a high level, including resolution of issues raised.

  • Maintain working relationships with client representatives to reduce duplication and ensure consistency of information and approach.

  • Maintain Lawtech customer service processes and systems as relevant for the site and residents.

  • Respond to all resident issues, working closely with project and site management team to ensure resolution of issues raised to ensure prompt resolution and recommend changes, in line with Lawtech policies.

  • Provision of outstanding and closed Customer Service issues to the Assistant Customer Service Managers monthly.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Design & Quality teams.

  • Set up and maintain Lawtech customer service systems, site records and local documentation and communication plans.

  • Draft responses and communication for residents and other parties

  • Mail merge letters to be sent to residents for surveys and installation dates etc, as directed by the Customer Service Manager/ Assistant Customer Service Manager

  • Answering of phone calls and making any necessary appointments.

  • Liaise with individual residents and establish individual requirements.

  • Arrange site surveys as required to each property within the project.

  • Manage surveys and work appointments with residents and comply with local key-holding and security requirements.

  • Maintain Lawtech’s record of all issues raised and resolutions and report progress as required for weekly, fortnightly, and monthly meetings.

  • Work with site and project management to identify and resolve issues and make recommendations for changes where appropriate.

  • Observe all H&S rules and ensure resolution of service issues comply with all such rules.

  • Escalate unresolved issues to CSM, when appropriate to do so.

  • Basic site administration including data entry of the in house ‘probe’ system for the below:

    • Delivery receipts – Once a week update deliveries on probe and ensure hard copies are sent/collected for the attention of Accounts Team

    • Site stock takes – Every Thursday stock takes are undertaken by the Site Manager. Information needs to be updated and sent to head office by you once a week following this stock take.

    • Update and close out alerts – Manage alerts on probe by reviewing every three days, chasing for response from individuals who are down to provide this.

    • Right to Work Checks – Checking of right to work for subcontractors including taking copies of passport or checking settlement status on the government website.

    • Maintain ID system for operatives - following procedure already started by Site Manager

  • To perform any other administrative duties as directed by CSM.

  • Obtain satisfaction surveys for all residents, collating responses, and work with project staff to use feedback to improve our service

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent written English.

  • Experience with customer service, ideally resident liaison experience within construction/social housing sector.

Role Overview:

The role of Health and Safety Advisor is to report to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. They will be responsible for managing, monitoring and delivering health and safety procedures on site at Lawtech. They will be involved in the writing of method statements, risk assessments (fire risk, COSHH, vibration and noise), construction phase plans and policy documents with the guidance of the HS&E Manager.

They will Advise and guide all site personnel with regards to the implementation and delivery of the H&S internal management system.

  • Assist with management of specified works and workforce, to agreed productivity levels, deadlines and budgets.

  • Assist with management of delivery of the works to programme and communicate all requirements to the workforce, supporting them in the production of their sections of the programme.

  • Monitor workforce performance through objectives and action plans, as required.

  • Ensure all contractor and sub-contractor issues are raised and dealt with appropriately.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical – ONC or equivalent qualification/experience in construction-related discipline

  • Have completed or be in the process of obtaining a relevant NVQ in a construction related discipline.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Facilitate the smooth running of projects by building and maintaining positive relationships between the residents, sub-contractors, client representatives and the Lawtech team.

  • Work closely with Project and site management team to ensure quality of customer service is maintained to a high level, including resolution of issues raised.

  • Maintain working relationships with client representatives to reduce duplication and ensure consistency of information and approach.

  • Maintain Lawtech customer service processes and systems as relevant for the site and residents.

    • Update and close out alerts – Manage alerts on probe by reviewing every three days, chasing for response from individuals who are down to provide this.

    • Right to Work Checks – Checking of right to work for subcontractors including taking copies of passport or checking settlement status on the government website.

    • Maintain ID system for operatives - following procedure already started by Site Manager

  • To perform any other administrative duties as directed by CSM.

Overall responsibilities

Temporary Works Assessment & Design

  • Scaffold Load Assessment: Review and assess temporary lateral scaffold loads and their structural effects on existing buildings, including comprehensive analysis of superstructure and substructure impacts using current calculation methods

  • Structural Impact Evaluation: Assess the effect of scaffolding and temporary works on individual buildings, external grounds, low-level ancillary buildings, and podium roofs of below-ground car parks, considering both static and dynamic loading scenarios

  • Load Distribution Design: Calculate and specify required spreaders, base plates, and load transfer mechanisms to support scaffold standards and construction hoists, ensuring safe load distribution to existing structures and foundations.

  • Hoarding and Welfare Design Review: Review and approve company hoarding designs and site accommodation structural arrangements in accordance with BS 5975 2019, PAS 8812 2016, and relevant wind loading standards BS EN 1991-1-4.

  • Wind Load Calculation:

    • Calculate wind loading applied to buildings in accordance with the latest Eurocodes (BS EN 1991-1-4), including detailed building zone definition.

    • Produce a complete, clearly structured set of wind load calculations for third-party review, Building Control approval, and Building Safety Regulator submissions.

    • Analyse and document the number of elevations considered for all wind load assessments, ensuring all facades and relevant external features are included per project needs.

    • Incorporate analysis for inset/building recesses, architectural projections, and other features impacting wind load behaviour on both permanent and temporary structures.

    • Undertake wind tunnel or desk-based analyses (as appropriate) to account for funnelling effect, local wind acceleration, and complex boundary phenomena.

The role of Health and Safety Advisor is to report to the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. They will be responsible for managing, monitoring and delivering health and safety procedures on site at Lawtech. They will be involved in the writing of method statements, risk assessments (fire risk, COSHH, vibration and noise), construction phase plans and policy documents with the guidance of the HS&E Manager.

They will Advise and guide all site personnel with regards to the implementation and delivery of the H&S internal management system.

  • Ensure any breaches in procedures and hazards are identified, corrected and flagged to the site team.

  • Ensure incidents, accidents and near misses, are recorded and reported as per company procedures.

  • Keep up to date with relevant changes in legislation, regulations and industry requirements and best practice.

  • Write method statements and risk assessments where required.

  • Support site management in the production, review and implementation of project management plans, construction phase plans and project H&S documentation.

  • Liaise with client representatives, other stakeholders and sub-contractors in order to establish good working relationships in relation to the health, safety and environmental management of Lawtech sites.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A good working knowledge and experience of ISO 9001 and 14001

  • Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015

  • Working knowledge of all major health and safety legislation, including the Work at Height Regulations 2005, and knowledge of TG20-21 and SG4 NASC requirements

  • Experience of SSIP schemes and the maintenance of company accreditations

  • Experience of delivering training and presentations

  • IOSH (preferable)

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Construction

  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate would be advantageous but not essential

  • NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent / GradIOSH would be advantageous but not essential
