Key Facts

Lawtech are currently undertaking a three-phase project at Parkside St. Peter’s, an 8-storey residential development located in close proximity to Clapham Junction in Battersea, London. We were awarded Phases 2 and 3 following the successful completion of Phase 1. Phase 1 consisted of the removal and replacement of the existing combustible ACM cladding with new non-combustible Sto render cladding, installation of AIM cavity barriers and also the installation of Tyvek Firecurb Housewrap.

During the works we faced a number of challenges that resulted in delays. Due to impacts of Brexit, customs delayed our named material supplier meaning that some key components were missing during this time which prevented some works from taking place. Inclement weather prevented the installation of the new Sto render system as temperatures were too low as per the manufacturers instructions. The build-up of snow and ice also meant that the scaffolding and access were unsafe, however salt was scattered to mitigate this and maintain the safety of all operatives. It was identified during the works that the existing CP boards also had to be removed and replaced, altering the sequence of works as well as our programme. Following close coordination and communication with the client, an extension of time was agreed upon.

Access to the site was limited due to the close proximity of St. Peter’s Church, requiring us to work closely with the church in order to ensure access and maintain safety. The site was also located in close proximity to Banana Moon Day Nursery. We worked closely with Plough Road Management Company Ltd, Thornsett, the residents, and the key stakeholders throughout to ensure all parties were satisfied and were not inconvenienced or disrupted during the works whilst maintaining the safety of all residents and key stakeholders as works progressed.
