Key Facts

The development is primarily residential with a commercial unit occupied by a gym to the ground floor. Adjacent land use comprises of Mecca Bingo, stop and wait bus lane in Redvers Road, residential properties, commercial units including The Gym Group and shopping centre.

The works included the complete replacement of the HPL cladding with rainscreen cladding, along with replacement of soffit boards and any wooden joists or supports. EPS insulation was replaced with Rockwool. Additional works also included the replacement of localised elements of fire-stopping, fire breaks, cavity barriers, and CP board. Clay tiles were removed, safely stored, and reinstated to allow remedial works to take place. Lawtech was awarded the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme Certificate of Excellence for this project, following their second monitored visit. This award was in recognition of standard beyond the minimum requirements of the Scheme's Code of Considerate Practice.

Lawtech closely coordinated with The Gym Group to ensure disruption/inconvenience to their business was minimised whilst ensuring the safety of all staff and members. We also worked closely with the neighbouring Mecca Bingo throughout, and procured a licence to allow us to occupy part of their car park whilst the works were underway, which was used for storage and waste.

A protection fan was constructed above the entrance in Redvers Road to deter any unauthorised access onto the scaffold and protect the residents. A gantry was constructed to the areas outside The Gym Group and on Redvers Road.
