Key Facts

Exeter House is a residential block constructed in 2011/12, located on a new build residential housing estate in Dagenham, East London. The main part of the building is 8 storey in height with a offset of the build to the north west elevation that goes up to 10 storeys in height. The block is approximately 30 metres in height.

Residential accommodation is arranged from the first floor with access via the street from ground floor level. The ground floor houses the plant and residents’ refuse/storage areas. The roof is a flat green roof, and there is a paved flat roof terrace accessible on the 9th floor.

Sustainability

The materials used in the design of Exeter House were carefully selected to be durable and recyclable. For example:

  • Rockwool insulation is made from natural materials such as diabase rock, which is continually replenished naturally from within the earth.

  • Future waste material (insulation) from demolition, along with off-cuts from the remediation works, can be transformed into new Rockwool insulation, making these products recyclable.

Social Value

On every project, we aim to invest in local communities. At Exeter House, this included our sponsorship of Barking Football Club, local to the works. As well as sponsoring a new home kit, their stadium was renamed ‘Lawtech Stadium’ until the 2024-25 season. This investment provided young people with new equipment to harness their development.

Members of the Lawtech team also attended a Barking FC match when the kit was worn for the first time in a 1-0 win against Takeley FC.

Rob O’Brien, the Director of Barking F.C., commented: “From all of us at Barking F.C. we thank you so much for your support. The kit looks fantastic and the lads really like it.”
